Why Termite Treatment in Las Vegas Can't Wait — And What We Actually Do to Fix It

If you've been putting off getting your home checked for termites, I get it. Life is busy and it's easy to think "I'll deal with it later." But here in Las Vegas, later can cost you a lot of money.

I'm William with Aspire Pest & Termite Control, and I've been treating termites in the Las Vegas valley for over 10 years. I want to explain what actually happens when termites get into your home, what we do to get rid of them, and why catching them early is one of the smartest things you can do as a homeowner.

Las Vegas Has a Real Termite Problem

A lot of people think termites are more of a humid climate issue — somewhere tropical or rainy. But subterranean termites absolutely thrive in our dry desert heat here in Nevada. They live underground in massive colonies and travel through mud tubes they build along your foundation, inside your walls, and under your flooring. You usually can't see them doing it.

By the time most homeowners in Las Vegas, Henderson, or Summerlin notice something is wrong — a hollow sound when they knock on a wall, a door that suddenly sticks, paint that bubbles for no reason — the colony has usually been active for months or even years. That's when the repair bills start adding up. We're talking structural wood damage that can cost $5,000, $10,000, or more — and almost no homeowner's insurance policy covers it because termite damage is considered preventable.

What Termite Treatment Actually Looks Like

When I get called out to a home I start with a thorough inspection. I check the foundation, the perimeter of the home, any wood that's close to soil, the garage, the attic if accessible, and anywhere I see signs of mud tubes, frass, or hollow wood. I give the homeowner an honest assessment of what I find — no exaggerating, no upselling.

If treatment is needed, here's exactly what we do:

We use a full liquid barrier treatment. That means we trench around the entire perimeter of your home's foundation and drill through any concrete slabs or patios that are up against the structure. We then inject a professional-grade liquid termiticide directly into the soil. This creates a continuous chemical barrier that termites cannot cross.

Here's the key part that makes this method so effective — termites that travel through the treated zone don't die instantly. They carry the termiticide back into the colony on their bodies and pass it to other termites. That means the treatment works its way through the entire colony and wipes it out from the inside. It's not a surface fix. It's full colony elimination.

We back every full liquid barrier treatment with a 5-year warranty. If termites come back within that time, so do we — no extra charge.

How Do You Know If You Have Termites?

Here are the most common signs I see when I go out on calls in Las Vegas:

  • Mud tubes running along your foundation, walls, or near plumbing

  • Wood that sounds hollow when you knock on it

  • Paint that bubbles or peels and looks like water damage but there's no leak

  • Small piles of what looks like sawdust near baseboards or in corners — that's termite droppings called frass

  • Swarming insects near your windows or lights in the spring — termites swarm when a colony is expanding

If you see any of these, don't wait. Text me a photo at 702-927-4335 and I will personally look at it and tell you whether you need an inspection. No charge, no obligation.

Why I Started Aspire

My wife Jacy and I started Aspire Pest & Termite Control in 2019 because we wanted to offer Las Vegas homeowners something that felt like it was actually missing — a local, honest pest control company that treated your home like it was their own. No pushy contracts. No inflated quotes. Just real work done right.

We serve Las Vegas, Henderson, Summerlin, North Las Vegas, Green Valley, Mountain's Edge, Southern Highlands, and Boulder City. If you are in one of those areas and you have any concern about termites at all, reach out. An $80 inspection is a whole lot cheaper than finding out you needed one two years ago.
